MyType is a personality based social networking application that allows you to explore your personality using several popular personality assessments such as the Jung Typology and and a survey with questions drawn from the International Personality Item Pool. Please keep in mind that MyType is an entertainment service and is in no way a substitute for the services of a psychological professional. You come to MyType to have fun and, perhaps, to learn a little bit about yourself and your friends.

At MyType, we don't believe that any personality test is perfect. In fact, we appreciate that each person is unique in countless ways. We, therefore, discourage you from taking your personality test results too seriously.

MyType allows you to type other people: your friends and famous personalities. Since typing other people is inherently problematic, we discourage you from taking the results of third-person personality tests too seriously either. Again, it's just for fun.

Please be aware that your friends who also use MyType will be able to see the results of your personality tests unless you choose to make those results private. Likewise, they will be able to see how your other friends rate your personality, which we call your Image, if you choose to enable the Image feature. Furthermore, if you use the "Meet People" feature, people that you don't know will be able to see your personality type.

Facebook grants MyType 24-hour access to the profile data that you make accessible to applications. In order to produce entertaining new features, MyType does often record statistics regarding the preferences and personality types of its users. MyType does not do this in a manner that is in any way personally identifiable. We might record, for example, that 1,000 INFPs like the Beatles. If a new user is an INFP and likes the Beatles, then we would update our records to show that 1,001 INFPs like The Beatles.
